Matthew Welter’s good friend, Matinus Van Shiek, the architect made this oval Sugar Pine table. At age 20, Matthew sculpted the top with its distinctive forms as pencil wells and added the shelving a year or so later. It has served as the sculptor’s poetry desk for some 30 years.
