Sculptures of Measure
Matthew G. Welter has produced many fine pieces over the years. As his skills have grown, so too have his sculptures. Over the years it has been his privilege to produce everything from the beautiful, smaller statues and furniture which grace homes and gardens of collectors, to the life-sized figures that have been commissioned by churches and other organizations for the purpose of commemoration.
|
Now a thirty-plus year veteran sculptor, Welter’s latest undertakings include "larger-then-life", monumental works which typify the wonder, passion and ambition that has marked his long career. One recent undertaking entitled “The Washoe Woman" stands over 16 ft. tall. She is carved from a single, huge trunk of western-red cedar. The commemoratory work now resides at the commissioner’s home on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, where she towers over the mysterious waters.
We invite you to review the photographic archive below of Matthew’s most recent accomplishment and consider what a monumental work could do for you or your organization. Large sculptures have long been respected as a way to recognize great people and worthy concepts—sturdy markers that cannot be ignore…and what medium portrays warmth more generously then wood? |
